ABOUT ME

"Massage is not a job to me, it is a calling.  I feel blessed to be able to do

the work I love."

Healthy, nurturing touch is necessary for human survival, and I believe it is even more important, if we wish not only to survive, but also to thrive.  Massage can be a powerful antidote to stress in our fast-paced world.  It invites us to slow down, relax, and focus inward, to become aware of our body, and the signals it is giving us -- signals we may otherwise be too busy to notice.  When we become more conscious of our body, we tend to take better care of it, and that enhances both our health and our quality of life.

I bring to my practice a love of this work, as well as a deep respect for the body and its innate ability to heal and maintain balance.  Massage and energy therapies can facilitate our healing potential and help bring body, mind, and spirit into balance.  My commitment is to

work in partnership with you on your journey toward optimum health and well-being.

Holistic health and healing have been interests of mine since I was a teenager, and as an adult, I have always worked in the health care field.  I was employed as a Medical Transcriptionist and an Occupational Therapist before beginning my training in Massage Therapy.  After graduating from Alexandar's School of Natural Therapeutics in Tacoma, Washington, in 1998, I initially worked in a spa before starting my own private practice.  Since leaving massage school, I have taken over 400 hours of bodywork related continuing education.  In the spring of 2000, I became certified in "Bodywork for the Childbearing Year" Pregnancy Massage, and I am currently enrolled in a certification program in Energy Medicine.

I am licensed by the State of Washington, and am a member of the Association of Bodywork

& Massage Professionals.  Medical Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Muscle Release Technique, Trigger Point Therapy, Reiki, Hot Stone Massage, and Aromatherapy are other modalities I have studied, and they provide a rich base of knowledge and technique upon  which I draw in my work.
